Eugene Charl le Roux’s love for the creative started at a young age and took flame when, in 1995 at the age of thirteen, he won an international art competition in Japan (the 8th Kanagawa Biennial World Children’s Art Exhibition Grand Prize). Since then, he has not stopped drawing or being creative. In 2003, he completed a three-year diploma in Fashion Design at the Elizabeth Galloway Academy of Fashion Design in Stellenbosch.
Everything and anything inspires Eugene to draw and create works of art. In everyday life, he will see a scene or imagine a picture and feel the need to draw it as soon as possible. The media he is exceptionally skilled with are black ink pen sketches, colour markers on cardboard, or acrylics on canvas. He loves crafting commissioned or spontaneous artwork for people. His favourite artist is Jackson Pollock and his preferred model is his wife.
